This short contribution starts with the intention of tracking, within a perspective of psychological point of view, the career of an important contemporary artist: Venturino Venturi (1918-2002). The principal subject of his work will be the portrait that he will use as a preferred way to express himself as an artist and as a man. The portrait will become the transition point that will mark every "crisis" and every "re-birth".
